Waste Disposal Transfer Station

This municipal transfer station is open to the RM of Britannia No. 502 Ratepayers only. All waste must be placed in the appropriate areas as directed by the landfill supervisor. Household waste must be properly bagged.

This municipal transfer station is now allowing ratepayers to dispose of appliances free of charge.

We are accepting the following under the direction of our site supervisor:

Car batteries, used vehicle oil & oil containers and filters.

NE 24-51-26-W3 (South of the Hamlet of Hillmond)

Open

  • During the period of December 24, 2021 to January 1, 2022 the Transfer Station will be opened during the following times: December 24, 2021 – 10 am to 2 pm, December 28, 2021 – 10 am to 6 pm, December 29, 2021 – 10 am to 6 pm, December 31, 2021 – 10 am to 2 pm, and closed January 1, 2022.
  • Regular times will continue January 4, 2022 with the times below:
  • Tuesdays & Wednesdays open from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Fridays open from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Saturdays open from 10 am to 4 pm
    Closed : Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Statutory Holidays

** Effective December 16, 2019 – ANY AND ALL HOSE MUST BE CUT INTO 48″ LENGTHS.
We have been asked by the Lloydminster landfill that we do not accept any hoses, until they have been cut into 48″ long pieces. The long hoses get caught in their landfill packers and wreck the equipment.

** A reminder to those dropping off grain bags, that they need to be clean and rolled tightly otherwise penalties will be incurred.

  • Computer Monitors
  • Pesticides & Containers
  • Rocks
  • Rubble
  • Soil
  • Animal Carcasses
  • Asphalt
  • Burning barrel ashes

According to the Ministry of the Environment, it is illegal to burn grain bags on public or private property. Fines for burning grain bags range from $0 – 1 Million dollars based on the severity of the property. The most relevant restrictions related to grain bag burning can be found in The Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2002 under section 4 (1) – Probation on Discharges.

CLEAN Grain Bags and Baler twine are now accepted at the Waste Transfer Station for your convenience.
